The decision to meet in Corsica for the bi annual EFAy Bureau Meeting, as opposed to the usual venue of Brussels, was to take advantage of the possibility of attending part of the EFA/Régions et Peuples Solidaires (EFA/RPS) Summer University that took place between the 26th to 29th August 2008.

EFAy President, Rhisiart Tal-e-bot, said:

“The EFAy Bureau Meeting provided a much needed opportunity to discuss some pressing issues that had arisen prior to the summer vacation and allowed members to plan together for the months ahead. The decision to choose Corti as a venue, as opposed to our usual meeting place of Brussels, was to take advantage of the opportunity of meeting up and networking with the organisers and participants of the Summer University, where a number of interesting and useful contacts were made.

Bureau Members were also able to discuss the possibilities of potentially becoming more closely involved with the organisation of subsequent Summer University events in the future.”
